Can you believe that Halloween is just around the corner?!? We here at LICKALIX have been excited about it for weeks now! As any proper foodie would, we have surfed the internet and spent way more time than we care to admit pinning anything from costume ideas to food recipes and party decorations. Since we now consider ourselves experts on all things Halloween we decided to share some of our favourite festive recipes with you.
The first trend that caught our attention was pound cakes with Halloween themed designs. They make our inner baker very, very happy and our inner foodie even more so! :) If you want to give these beauties a try make sure to head over to She Knows for the Pumpkin Pound Cake recipe, or Sew Licious Home Decor for her delicious chocolaty Halloween Chocolate Ghost Cake.
Another baking recipe that has caught our attention is this Voodoo Doll Cookie recipe by Not Quite Nigella. We can not wait to try it out and test our creative skills while decorating!
If baking is not really your thing but you are still looking for a chocolate fix then we recommend trying this cute Pumpkin Dirty Pudding recipe. We think this design from Neighbor Food is a great idea! If you have any dietary restrictions the pudding recipe itself can be replaced by your favourite recipe and you can just use the cute style as inspiration.
We also found this Halloween Pudding Cup recipe from Yummy Mummy Kitchen, that uses citrus fruit as the bowls for the parfait. Definitely an idea we look forward to trying out this year!
Sticking with the fruity theme we have also found a variety of different Halloween treats using our favourite fruits. This way we can at least pretend to be healthy while stuffing our faces with all those yummy Halloween treats :)
We are definitely going to make these Strawberry Ghosts by Candiquik since they look adorable and you can never go wrong with a classic strawberry and chocolate combination.
Another recipe that uses fruit and dips it into yummy things is this Poison Toffee Apple recipe we found on Simply Delicious.
Speaking of apples, these Silly Apple Bites are the perfect healthy Halloween treat! They are super easy to make and Forks and Beans addition of the strawberry tongues makes them even tastier than the peanut/apple slices we remember having as kids.
We also found another healthy-ish fruity Halloween snack idea over at She Knows. These Frightful Fruit Kebabs don't just look great, they are also strike a perfect balance between healthy and naughty treats.
We hope these recipes give you some inspiration for your Halloween party. Don't forget to let us know how you got on with these recipes and leave us some of your ideas in the comments below- we can't wait to try them! Have a wonderful, spooky Halloween and make sure to come back for more LICKALIX in November! :)
